Introduction:

Wing chun kung fu is a southern Chinese kung fu fighting style. It is characterized as a unique martial art system that doesn't depend on how strong or big your body is but how to use your opponent's force against him in some movements and concepts the student train on in order to defend him self.

Also wingchun kung fu benefit your health, your mind and enhance your self confidence.



Basic concepts:

- Relaxation:

Relaxing your body muscles will give you speed in both offense & defense. Wing chun is a soft style, this means in a real fight situation you will end up in a less exhaustion. Because of relaxing the strikes in wing chun have a deep impact effect on opponent's body. The defense in the other hand will result in blocking your opponent's attack with out feeling pain because of no tension in your muscles and at the same time it will hurt your opponent.


- Economy of motion:

Wing chun kung fu is a practical system that maintains the body's energy. So you wont find some jumping or tiering movements because motion in wing chun depend on reaction with spontaneous defense and attack in a close range combat.

- Center line theory:

 The center line is an imaginary line that is located in the center of your chest level and goes from the top of your head till down to your toes. This line pass through all your body vital parts and your mission is to protect this line by placing your two hands on your center line one in front and the second one behind it.  Also striking is from the center line in a straight line as a shortest way to reach the target.

- Rooting:

Stability on the ground gives you power in both defense & offense. You will learn that from wing chun stance. And that also will result in balancing your footwork movements.


- Switching hands:

Switching hands on your center line in an oval path will allows you to deliver many quick punches and also it will helps you in trapping your opponents hands.
